As used in this policy, the terms "Joomie," "us," "we," "our," and "ourselves" refer to BBYO ("the Company" that created Joomie). The terms "you," "your," and "yourself" refer to users of our Service.

1. Information We Collection

Registration (Facebook Login)

In order to register, you will be asked to sign in with your Facebook account. In doing so, you authorize us to collect relevant information necessary to enable Joomie to access Facebook, and Facebook will provide us with access to certain information that you have provided to it. By allowing us to access your Facebook account, you understand that we will obtain and share your information, as well as the name and profile picture of your Facebook friends who are common Facebook friends with other Joomie users in your network or geolocation. We will use, store, and disclose such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. However, please remember that the manner in which Facebook uses, stores, and discloses information is governed by its policies, and Joomie shall have no liability or responsibility for Facebook’s privacy practices or other actions.

Voluntary Personal Information

Joomie’s functionality depends greatly on the information you provide. We may ask you to provide information about yourself, including your name, gender, age, email address, interests, grade level, and physical address.

Whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information on publicly-viewable screens or pages, that information will be publicly available and can be collected and used by others. For example, if you post your email address, you may receive unsolicited messages from other users of the service. We cannot control who reads your posting or what other users may do with the information you voluntarily post, so we encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your personal information. If you wish, you can close your account yourself by selecting “Delete Account”.

Please keep in mind that other Joomie users can see this information about you, and they may use it or disclose it to other individuals or entities outside of our control, and without our knowledge. Your information may be subject to abuse, misuse, or monitoring by others, and you share this information at your own risk.

Information About Others

We may collect and store personal information about other people that is available to us through your Facebook login.

Device Information

In order to recognize you, store your preferences, and track your use of our application, we may store your mobile device IDs (the unique identifier assigned to a device by the manufacturer) when you use the Joomie application. Unlike cookies, device IDs cannot be deleted.

Additional Information

When you use our Service, we receive and store certain personally non-identifiable information. Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot presently be used to specifically identify you. Joomie may store such information itself or such information may be included in databases owned and maintained by Joomie affiliates, agents or service providers. This Service may use such information and pool it with other information to track, for example, the total number of users of our services, or analyzing trends in downloads, invites, or messaging, for instance. Joomie may occasionally conduct research on customer demographics by aggregating individual data of our users. Joomie may share this non-identifiable and aggregate data with its affiliates, agents, and business partners, but this type of aggregated data does not identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. For instance, we use your information to provide the core functionality of our service (connecting you with potential Jewish roommates), to monitor your use of the service and improve the user experience, to respond to your comments and inquiries, to communicate with you regarding the service, and for any other purpose for which the information was provided. We may use your information to contact you (e.g., by email) to notify you of events and other matters of which we believe you may be interested.

Use of Your Information By Others

Joomie cares deeply about your privacy and without your prior consent, we will not share your Personal Information except as outlined in this Privacy Policy. With that said, there may be circumstances that may lead us to share your Personal Information to a third party without further notice to you. Such circumstances include: With our partner agencies who engage college students on campus in a variety of program and immersive experiences; in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event; with service providers we work with in order to provide our Service; with our corporate affiliates, partner agencies or subsidiaries for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy; to enforce our Privacy Policy or other terms of service; and if required to do so by law or when we believe in good faith that such disclosures are required by law; to protect and defend the rights or property of Joomie, protect the personal safety of users of the site or the public, or protect against legal liability.

4. Children's Privacy

We do not allow persons under 13 to register for any service, and we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from persons under the age of 13. If you are under 13 years of age, please do not use our Services and please do not submit any personal information through our Services. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing children under the age of 13 never to use our Services. Please contact us immediately if you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to Joomie, and we will make every attempt to delete that information from our databases.

5. Information from Users Outside The United States

If you're outside the United States, your information will be sent to and stored in the United States, where our servers are located. By using Joomie, you agree to the information collection, use, and sharing practices described in this Privacy Policy.

6. Links to Other Websites or Services

This Service may contain links to other websites or services not operated or controlled by Joomie. The policies and procedures we describe here do not apply to these third party sites, nor do the links from this Service imply that Joomie endorses or has reviewed these third party sites. We suggest contacting those sites directly for information on their privacy policies.
